David Pan Volvo Cars China HRVP
David Pan currently works in the position of Vice President of Human Resources, Volvo Cars China.
David started his HR career in Shenzhen with TCL-Thomson Electronics (TTE) where he held the position of Deputy Global HR Head at a time when the TV businesses of TCL and Thomson were merged and became then the largest TV manufacturer in 2004. Prior to joining Volvo, David’s HR positions after TTE include General Manager, HR and Shared Services of BP’s LNG business operation in China and Group HR Head of GCL Power, a listed company in Hong Kong Stock Exchange which is the owner of the largest solar poly-silicon plant in the world as well as the largest thermo power plant in the non-State-owned sector in China.
Before turning into a HR professional, David had held different managerial positions in business development and business operation working on joint ventures with companies such as STMicroelectronics, Samsung and Hitachi. In his earlier career David worked for then the largest electronics conglomerate in the state-owned sector and once served on an overseas assignment to oversee their joint-venture in the US in the mid 1990’s.
David graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University with both bachelor and master degrees. |
