George Gu IBM China Learning Development Competency Leader
Mr.Gu has over 18 years of broadexperience and expertise in learning anddevelopment, performance improvement, organization development, change management, client relation management, and management consulting. He has been the lead on a variety of projects with various responsibilities and possesses verifiable track record of creating proven results. Currently Mr. Gu is the Learning & Knowledge Leader, Learning Development Competency Leader, and Language Translation Services Center (LTSC) Leader at IBM China Global Delivery, responsible for a variety of important tasks including enabling the company for technical, language, and professional training to support the business strategy, addressing other education needs, and developing learning content as well as localization.
Mr. Gu’s prior roles include Senior Training Manager at Ericsson China Academy, Senior Consultant at HayGroup in China, and Training Manager and Sr. Instructional Designer at Qwest Communications International (USA).
Mr. Gu holds M.S. Degree in Human Resources Development and Training from Saint Cloud State University, USA, and is the first Chinese to be certified as Certified Performance Technologist (CPT) jointly by International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) and American Society for Training and Development (ASTD).
He served on the board of ISPI Minnesota Chapter (mnispi.org) for six years and also served as the President for 2001 and 2002.
He is also the translator of A Quick Guide to e-Learning, the first of its kind in China focusing on e-Learning development, published by CITIC Publishing House, January 2004, Beijing.
Mr. Gu likes tennis, swimming, movies, and music. A native of Tianjin, now lives and loves Shanghai. |
