With the establishment of the Institute for China Business (ICB) in February 2010, HKU SPACE is dedicated to developing professional and executive education programmes in mainland China and training a new generation of corporate leaders. Capitalising on the academic strength of HKU, ICB operates a series of programmes with global perspectives and cutting edge professional knowledge with an emphasis on mainland specificities, which foster the problem solving capabilities of corporate leaders that will eventually promote innovation in Chinese companies at both strategic and management levels.

In addition to further developing the three teaching locations in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, and the joint centre collaborating with a renowned university in Guangzhou, ICB focuses on improving the professional standards of management personnel in China and training a new generation of corporate leaders. The total number of registered students has already exceeded 4,000. The six newly set up centres offer programmes with distinct characteristics. Apart from well-received Integrated Marketing Communications, Organisation and Human Resource Management postgraduate diploma programmes, and programmes developed over the past two years including B2B Market Management, Corporate Finance and Investment Management, Integrated and Practicing Management, Information Strategy and Business Transformation, Retail Management and Shopper Marketing, Government Economic and Social Management, Global Operations and Management, Innovative Marketing and Adaptive Organisation and Media Management, the Institute will introduce five new postgraduate programmes this academic year. They are Product Innovation and Creativity Management, Service Innovation and Experience Strategy, Financial Markets and Portfolio Management, Corporate Coaching and Leadership Development and Healthcare Management. Equally important, ICB provides tailor-made China Executive Programme for Chinese executives.
