Freddie Chow Sanofi China HR VP
Freddie Chow, Singaporean, is the Vice President, Human Resources, for Sanofi Asia/Australia/NZ/Korea. Freddie has more than 17 years’ experience in human resource management and 21 years working in the Sanofi Group. Prior to this appointment, Freddie was the HR Director for Sanofi China (and Aventis before the merger) from 2001 to 2008.
Before his assignment in China, Freddie was the Head of HR in the Singapore manufacturing site, where he started his career with the pharmaceutical industry. Freddie’s early career years were in the field of purchasing and materials management.
As an experienced HR practitioner, Freddie has made significant contributions while in China. Some of the contributions include Sanofi-Aventis merger in 2004, ramp up of 800 sales force in 4 months in 2005, started Sanofi University in 2008 to ensure learning and personal development of employees. In 2010, Freddie started the China Talent Center to build a talent pipeline to prepare the organization for expansion as part of strategic long range planning.
Externally, Freddie was previously elected as a council member with the China Pharmaceutical HR Group and chaired the compensation and benefits committee. In 2003, Freddie was named China “HR Director of the Year” in the China Staff Awards. In 2012, Freddie was again named “15 People of 15 Years” China Staff Awards.
Freddie has a mechanical engineering background with a business degree and a Masters in Human Resource Management from Rutgers University. Freddie is a Certified Compensation Professional with WorldatWork since 1998 and is currently a teaching faculty member in China and Singapore.
