Sharon Yang SPD Silicon Valley Bank Head of HR
Sharon Yang is the Head of Human Resources of SPD Silicon Valley Bank (SSVB). SSVB is the first technology and innovation bank in China serving as an independent legal entity, and it provides unique financial products and services to the technology and innovation industry in China.
Over her past twenty-year career, Sharon’s experience spans a number of HR roles across a variety of industries and locations. Apart from being the China HR head for companies in the banking, real estate consulting & investment, and renewable energy industries, Sharon was also once based in HK and served as the global HR business partner for an international engineering firm. In the early stage of her career, Sharon spent four years at a Shanghai-based Chinese state-owned group before she went to Singapore in 1997 for working and further studying.
Sharon holds an MSc in Human Resource Strategy from the University of Sheffield, UK, and an MBA from the University of Western Sydney, Australia. Sharon is also the founding member of VHR as well as Society for HR Executives (SHRE), and the distinguished advisor of KEDGE Business School.
