Jim Leininger Towers Watson(China) Head of Organization Surveys and Insights group
Jim Leininger is the head of Towers Watson’s Organization Surveys and Insights group in China. He is primarily responsible for providing strategic consulting advice to clients in areas of employee engagement, organizational change, attraction and retention, and talent management. He has been responsible for leading many of research projects in the area of HR function effectiveness and employee engagement. He is the primary author of many of research reports in Asia, such as the Human Capital Index®, WorkChina, and WorkAsiaTM.
Jim has worked with MNCs, State-Owned Enterprises, and Joint Ventures in conducting a wide variety of consulting projects in China. His experience in this regard includes many industries such as manufacturing, telecom, high tech, and financial services. Jim was the project director for Watson Wyatt’s inaugural WorkAsia project, which was conducted across 12 Asian markets in 7 languages.
Fluent in Chinese, Jim’s experience in China stretches back over 20 years. In the United States, Jim worked in California as a research assistant for the Institute for International Studies at Stanford University, following a career in education and counseling.
Jim has published numerous articles on HR issues in both Chinese and English in publications such as Fortune the China Business Review, and China Business Weekly. He is also the co-author of a curriculum series, “Choices in International Conflict”, which was published by the Stanford program in International and Cross-cultural Education.
Jim holds a Master's degree in East Asian Studies with an emphasis in Chinese Business and Law from Stanford University. He has also undertaken intensive study courses in Mandarin at Tsinghua University in Beijing and Tunghai University in Taichung, Taiwan. He is also the Chair of the American Chamber of Commerce – Beijing’s HR Forum. |
